    Chiayi County—

Siding (隙頂), Fanlu Town(番路鄉), Chiayi County which is one of the tea production areas in Alishan(阿里山) mainly provides two kinds of tea: Oolong(烏龍) and Jin Xuan(金萱). The geology of Siding(隙頂) contains the shale layers so that the lands are under terrace framing, making this sight unique.

Siding(隙頂) where Da Bang Tribe in Alishan(阿里山達邦部落) was located in the early days was actually a valley passage to Chiayi City. The land which mainly produced trees like camphor trees started to grow tea, orchids, sweet persimmons, and mountain vegetables after Alishan Highway(阿里山公路) was opened.

You may observe the three leaves and a bud when you visit the tea fields over here, besides, you may see the shell of peanut is used to cover the soil. Mr. Huang who works in Shen Li Tea Factory (生力茶廠) mentioned that the shell of peanut is not a fertilizer but to prevent weeds.
